STS Aviation Group Earns Authorization as Repair Station for MarathonNorco Aerospace Hold Open Rods

STANSTED, United Kingdom (April 21, 2026) — STS Aviation Group (STS) has been named an authorized repair station for MarathonNorco Aerospace, supporting repair of hold open rods used on fan cowls and thrust reversers across commercial aircraft platforms.

The capability will be housed within STS Aviation Group’s engine facility in the United Kingdom, where teams will support operators across the region. The authorization adds targeted repair capability and strengthens STS’s overall service offering.

This authorization also expands STS Aviation Group’s existing agreement with MarathonNorco Aerospace, where STS serves as the exclusive distributor across North America, South America, and EMEA.

Hold open rods play a critical role in maintaining safe access to engine components during maintenance operations. By bringing this repair capability in-house, STS provides operators with a reliable option for inspection, repair, and return-to-service, helping reduce turnaround times and keep aircraft moving.

Macleod has led GT Engine Services for more than 15 years, guiding its evolution into a respected provider of global engine support. Following the company’s acquisition by STS Aviation Group in May 2024, he played a key role in ensuring a smooth transition and laying the groundwork for future growth.

“This is a bittersweet moment for me,” said Macleod. “I’m stepping away to pursue my dream of travelling the globe, but I’ll miss the fantastic team we’ve built here, and the many customers and suppliers who have become friends over the years. The integration with STS has gone very well, and with the support of H.I.G. Capital, the company is in a strong position to grow. The timing feels right, and I have full confidence in Tracey’s leadership moving forward.”

Clark brings deep operational experience to the role, having worked closely with Macleod during the company’s recent expansion.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Greg for many years, and I’m grateful for his mentorship and trust,” said Clark. “We have a strong team in place, a growing global customer base, and a clear strategy to move the business forward. El enfoque inicial de esta expansión será completar los componentes de la familia de aviones A380, específicamente los baños y los paneles laterales. Diehl Aviation ya cuenta con la certificación EASA Part 21G para el ensamblaje de componentes de cabina, mientras que STS Aviation Services está avanzando hacia la certificación GCAA CAR 145, que permitirá la reparación y certificación in situ de componentes de aeronaves en Dubái.
